An Original Rundum Meir side sliding garage door was set up as part of a significant undertaking, adding sophisticated, timeless elegance to a recently renovated luxury residence. And that’s precisely what we accomplished with this installation! The aim of this venture was to fit a garage door that met the customer’s specifications, providing secure garage access while seamlessly integrating with the house’s overall aesthetics. The building survey took place in November 2022, and the customer placed an order with us in January of the following year. The lead time was about 12 weeks, and the installation concluded in April 2023.
The primary challenge for this project was the available headroom. With a mere 130mm to work with, the evident choice was a round-the-corner door. Unlike other garage doors, a round the corner door can function with as little as 50mm headroom – making it perfect for this scenario. Panels are placed on top-hung rollers and guided through floor tracks to follow the internal wall, making it an ideal option in garages where other door styles might not be feasible.
THE PROCESS
Before the installation, our surveyor conducted a comprehensive assessment of the garage, ensuring it met the necessary requirements for fitting this door style. They advised the customer on various options and the best location to install the socket needed for the electric operator.
In close collaboration with the customer, The Garage Door Centre refined the design of this customised Rundum Meir door, enabling multiple remote controls for the automatic operating system. The garage door, measuring 3130mm wide x 2200mm high, was skillfully installed by our qualified engineers, ensuring flawless alignment and smooth functionality.
