Garage Doors –  Types & Options

Welcome to Camber Garage Doors – Read on to learn about the garage door types and options we offer!

Here at Camber Garage Doors we specialise in supplying and fitting a variety of high quality automated garage doors in Fleet, Haslemere, Petersfield, Alton, and everywhere in between.  Our high quality range of electric garage doors includes retractable, sectional, side-hinged and roller garage doors so you’re sure to find the right door for your needs.

Retractable garage doors work especially well with automated electric opening as the door is lifted with springs which makes for a smooth opening and closing action.  Sectional and roller garage doors are ideal for people with smaller garages and minimal space.  They’re also better suited to garages in areas that are prone to extreme weather conditions like strong winds and heavy snow as they open without an outswing.  You can also park right up to the door utilising all driveway space.

What’s Your Garage Used For?

When thinking about your new garage door it’s important to consider what the garage is used for and how much insulation you’ll require.  Insulated garage doors can help to keep the temperature within your garage comfortable as well as having a positive effect on any adjoining rooms in your home.  A well insulated garage will help you to keep your overall heating costs down.

Here at Camber Garage Doors we are proud of our high standard of workmanship and hassle free garage door installation.  Our professional and knowledgeable team will ensure that you get the right garage door for your needs; your satisfaction is our priority.

Up & Over Doors

Canopy garage doors have integral vertical side runners along which the door travels, with no horizontal tracks protruding into the garage space.  Lifting movement is provided by a spring located along the top of the door which pulls on a spindle on both sides of the door via a drum pulley and cable arrangement.  When open, approximately one-third of the door projects from the garage creating a canopy effect.

Camber Retractable DoorRetractable garage doors have horizontal tracks which are attached to the top of the door frame to guide the door open.  Lifting movement is provided by springs located on both sides of the door frame which pull on the lifting arms in a cantilever action.  This provides an exceptionally smooth opening and closing action which is ideal for electric operation.  When open, the door retracts into the garage leaving only a small protrusion.

Roller Garage Doors

Roller garage doors open vertically into a compact roll above the opening, taking up minimal space in the garage.  Opening without an outswing, roller doors are particularly suited to garages situated in areas prone to heavy snow or strong winds, garages with arched openings or with short driveways where a second car can be parked right up to the door without hindering its operation.

Sectional Garage Doors

Sectional garage doors open vertically, travelling upwards and back into the garage along overhead tracks.  Sectional doors open without an outswing and like roller doors are particularly suited to garages in areas prone to heavy wind or snow.  Vertical opening gives all the benefits associated with being able to park right up to the door, inside and out, and maximized drive-through height clearance which is great for 4x4s or MPVs.
